The road of peasant houses

Wandering on the valleys and hills of Câmpulung, hidden among modern houses with floor and double glazing or lost on cochleas, there are still peasant houses. Meeting them is usually rare and accidental, but when it does happen, the hiker stops breathing for a moment.

The harmony of the shapes, the warmth of the old materials, the simple elegance envelops you with a state of primordial joy.

The road of peasant houses, the new project of MAL, aims to bring together in a route for both Câmpulungen and tourists the most beautiful examples of peasant architecture, with the hope that we will know and admire them, that the owners will better understand their value and they will be proud to maintain them and hand them over intact to their heirs. It is a city, community project, which we invite you to build together.

We expect from you, all the people of Câmpulungea, to participate, in a first instance, with recommendations of houses that still have the peasant character and that can be admired from the road.

Furthermore, we will gather all these points in a walking or cycling route, we will publish them in a map and we will distribute them for free in physical format (at museums, pensions, restaurants) or online.
